•  1.  Setting up the action in the lathe to machine it true using an action truing jig. A mandrel            guided by fitted bushings is inserted into the action and indicated true to within 0.0001            of an inch to determine true centerline of the bolt raceway axis.

•  2.  The mandrel is removed and the action face is cut true with the centerline of the bolt                raceway using a single point cutter.

•  3.  The action threads are recut 0.015" oversized on the lathe with a single point cutter to              guarantee concentric threads.

•  4.  Then the integral lugs within the action are single point cut to true them . 

•  5.  The recoil lug is opened up 0.015" to fit oversized threads on new barrel tenon.

•  6.  4 dovetailed slots are cut in the bolt and fitted with dovetailed bosses ( a benchrest                  method of sleeving a bolt attributed to Bill Leeper ) to act as elliptical sleeves. 

• 7.  The bolt is set up in the lathe and indicated true then the front and back sides of the                 recoil lugs are cut true with a single point cutter.

• 8.  The face of the bolt is then cut true and perpendicular to the center line of the bore ( this           doesn't interfere with the factory extractor on a Remington 700).

• 9.  Remove and properly set time for bolt handle, silver solder handle back onto bolt.

        Bush firing pin hole. Drill and ream to 0.0625 of an inch. Turn firing pin down to match.
